Invitation to attend the 2nd Mental Health Week of the MMC Department of Neurosciences, Section of Psychiatry
The Department of Neurosciences, Section of Psychiatry, in pursuit of continuing excellence, will be holding its 2nd Mental Health Week which will be running from September 28 to October 2, 2010. This will be held at the 8th floor Auditorium, MMC Tower 2 of our institution.
This year’s theme “Hand in Hand, Body and Mind” focuses on holistic health and wellness. It delves into physical as well as mental well-being. It aims to promote a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.
The activities of the week include lectures, demonstrations and workshops. These are enumerated as follows:
Day 1: Ribbon Cutting and Opening of the Exhibit (8am, main lobby) and 8th Post-Graduate Course “ Hand in Hand, Body and Mind”
Day 2: “ Well Nurse: Taking Care of Yourself “ by Neuropsychiatry Nursing Staff
Day 3: Non- Medical Tools for De-Stressing by Allied Mental Health Professionals
Day 4: Physical Wellness Day – facilitated by Slimmer’s World International
Day 5: Balance- The Key to Emotional and Spiritual Wellness - A Symposium by Dr. Ma. Lourdes “ Honey” Carandang

The Allied Mental Health Services for the Section of Psychiatry, Makati Medical Center invites you to participate in a seminar-workshop entitled “Non-Medical Tools for De-Stressing” to be held on September 30, 2010 from 8:00-3:30 at the 8th Floor Auditorium MMC, Tower 2 of MMC.
This event is to be accredited by the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) for continuing professional education units.

Balance – The Key to Spiritual and Emotional Wellness Workshop
The Makati Medical Center Department of Neurosciences – Section of Psychiatry, Allied Mental Health Volunteer Service invites you to a Mood Harmony Support Group symposium entitled “Balance – The Key to Spiritual and Emotional wellness” to be held on October 2, 2010, from 9:00-12:00 at the 8th Floor Auditorium MMC, Tower 2 of MMC.
The keynote speaker is none other than the renowned clinical psychologist, author and professor Ma. Lourdes “Honey” A. Carandang, Ph.D. The forum will be a discussion on how to achieve balance between work and play, giving and receiving, holding on and letting go, between doing and being. Also, it discusses the need for authenticity, acceptance, compassion, the healing power of beauty and saying a high quality “No.”
This event is accredited by the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) for continuing professional education units of 2.5.

The Makati Medical Center Department of Neurosciences –Section of Psychiatry, Allied Mental Health Volunteer Service invites you to a Mood Harmony Support Group workshop entitled “The Role of Stress in Life Transition” to be held on August 7, 2010, from 9:00-12:00 at the Ledesma Hall, 9th floor, Tower 1 of MMC.
Today’s conditions present challenges that can impact life and lead to physical, mental and emotional changes. The subject of this presentation is understanding the positive and negative effects of stress on the individual as he/she goes through life changes. Learn how to handle these transitional issues from the clinical psychology expert, Ma. Teresa “Dido” Gustilo-Villasor, Ph.D.
This event is accredited by the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) for continuing professional education units of 2.5.
