Talk on “Fundamentals: Assisting Children in the Game of Life”
Overview:
On July 20, 2012, Metropolitan Psychological Corporation (MPC) will be holding its first talk for 2012 entitled, “Fundamental: Assisting Children in the Game of Life” with Dr. Tedi Gustilo Villasor.
This event will be held at the Ateneo Professional Schools – Ateneo de Manila University in 20 Rockwell Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City from 9 AM – 12 NN (Friday).
“Fundamentals: Assisting Children in the Game of Life” is accredited by the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) to issue Continuing Professional Education (CPE) units.

The Department of Neurosciences, Section of Psychiatry, in pursuit of continuing excellence, will be holding its 2nd Mental Health Week which will be running from September 28 to October 2, 2010. This will be held at the 8th floor Auditorium, MMC Tower 2 of our institution.
This year’s theme “Hand in Hand, Body and Mind” focuses on holistic health and wellness. It delves into physical as well as mental well-being. It aims to promote a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.
The activities of the week include lectures, demonstrations and workshops. These are enumerated as follows:
Day 1: Ribbon Cutting and Opening of the Exhibit (8am, main lobby) and 8th Post-Graduate Course “ Hand in Hand, Body and Mind”
Day 2: “ Well Nurse: Taking Care of Yourself “ by Neuropsychiatry Nursing Staff
Day 3: Non- Medical Tools for De-Stressing by Allied Mental Health Professionals
Day 4: Physical Wellness Day – facilitated by Slimmer’s World International
Day 5: Balance- The Key to Emotional and Spiritual Wellness - A Symposium by Dr. Ma. Lourdes “ Honey” Carandang

The keynote speaker is none other than the renowned clinical psychologist, author and professor Ma. Lourdes “Honey” A. Carandang, Ph.D. The forum will be a discussion on how to achieve balance between work and play, giving and receiving, holding on and letting go, between doing and being. Also, it discusses the need for authenticity, acceptance, compassion, the healing power of beauty and saying a high quality “No.”

The subject of this presentation is understanding the positive and negative effects of stress on the individual as he/she goes through life changes. Metropolitan Psychological Corporation (MPC) among nine accredited Continuing Professional Education (CPE) providers of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP)
I am very happy to announce that the following institutions were among the nine accredited as Continuing Professional Education (CPE) providers by the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP).

- Volunteer Service of the Allied Mental Health Services for Section of Psychiatry, Makati Medical Center
PAP President J. Enrique G. Saplala shares that “PAP members can earn credit points when they attend any seminar/workshop given by the above institutions during the validity of the accreditation. The number of credit points of the CPE activity will depend on the number of hours and or day of the activity.”
The accreditation is valid for one year (April 2010 until March 2011).
